2016 A Successful Mountain Man Rendezvous in Calico Rock

Thank you to everyone who made the 2016 Mountain Man Rendezvous a huge success. Our crowd estimate of 1,925 people is a 28% increase over previous years and makes this the largest rendezvous ever! These numbers include 300 elementary school students, parents, and educators on Friday; 150 people on Saturday; 50 campers, reenactors, and exhibitors; and largest crowd on Saturday we have ever had.

We were honored to have the Beyond the Circle Dancers, a great turnout for our Walk of Remembrance honoring those who walked and died on the Trail of Tears, tremendous partnership by the Early Arkansaw Reenactors Association, Drew and Donna Turner, and Daisy BB Guns (a great Arkansas company). The Trail of Trees, stew cook-off, tomahawk throwing, and great demonstrations really added to the event.

We were really excited that we had twice as many authentic tents than in the past.

Special thank you to our title sponsor, First National Bank of Izard County, member FDIC an equal opportunity lender. FNBIC is our local, community bank. They are always available to help and support our community when we need them.

Thank you to all the exhibitors, volunteers, and workers that made today a huge success. But, a very special thank you to Gloria Sanders whose leadership, hard work and faithful dedication makes the event a huge success!
