Jacksonport Courthouse NightDon’t let your kids miss out on a great summer adventure at Jacksonport State Park!  Make plans for them to attend Summer Science Day Camp in July to discover the Weird & Wonderful Wildlife of the White River Region.  Each day has a different focus and you can attend just one day or all three!

Wednesday, July 15 – Lives of Birds

Today’s birding activities kick off with an introduction to the birds of the White River. Events include a birding hike, and a program on Arkansas Birds of Prey. Finish up the day with you making a bird feeder that is yours to keep!

Thursday, July 16 – Mammals of the White River!

Today you will look for, and identify, the tracks of mammals that call Jackson County home.  Later on, your knowledge will be tested! Can you identify different mammals just by looking at their fur and bones?

Friday, July 17 – It’s Herp Day!

Today’s camp is all about snakes, turtles, and amphibians. Learn how to tell the difference between a venomous snake or non-venomous snake before the day is over.

Date: July 15 – 17, 2015

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  each day.

Meeting place: Visitor Information Center, Jacksonport State Park

Admission: $10 per day, or all three days $25
