Powhatan Historic State Park in Powhatanoffers a Dutch Oven Workshop: Thanksgiving Feast on Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. Learn to cook many of your holiday favorites with a twist…using a Dutch oven. Participants will learn more about 19th century cooking, receive a recipe booklet, and try some tasty dishes in this workshop. Cost is $15. Contact the park at 870-878-6765 to learn more.
Take a step back in time and dance the night away to 1860s and 1870s period music in the beautifully decorated historic courthousejacksonport holiday ball5 as Jacksonport State Park in Newport hosts the annualHoliday Gala Ball on Nov. 21. Participants learn traditional Victorian dances, then take to the ballroom floor to show off what they’ve learned, as the band plays period music.
