Ozark Folk Center State Park – 2016 Ozark Storytellers January 12, 2016

Mountain View, Arkansas – – Ozark Storytellers will hold its monthly story swap and potluck  in the Administration Building at the Ozark Folk Center on Tuesday, January 12, with potluck 5 to 6 p.m. and story time from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

Tellers are invited to bring stories from their family, their personal history, tall tales or folk tales. The story swap is an informal, family-friendly group. The  program will go in a round robin format, so everyone will get a chance to share their tales.

“This is just a relaxing evening gathering to share stories,” said Jeanette Larson, Ozark Folk Center Craft Director. “Stories are such a strong part of the Ozark heritage. Storytelling is a skill, and we like to get together monthly to practice the skill of sharing our stories.”

Listeners are as welcome as tellers. Ozark Storytellers monthly story swaps are held the second Tuesday of every month.

The Ozark Folk Center State Park is located at 1032 Park Avenue in Mountain View.  Follow the signs to the Administration Building and park in the parking lot just below the building.  The Ozark Folk Center State Park is less than a mile from the Courthouse Square in downtown Mountain View.  The park may also be reached by taking Hwy 5/9/14 (Sylamore Ave) to Jimmy Driftwood Parkway.
