Ozark Folk Center State Park 2016 Music Auditions March 5th & 18th
Mountain View, Arkansas – Musicians can audition for the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s 2016 season in the White Oak Theatre (located in the administration building) Saturday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. and Friday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m.
“Over the past few years we have seen an impressive group of new musicians join the musical tradition here at the Ozark Folk Center State Park”, says Music Director Daren Dortin. “We want to continue that trend and build on the solid foundation of quality local and regional performers. Keeping the music of our region alive and vibrant is at the core of our mission”.
Musicians should call ahead to schedule an audition time for either day. Performers should come prepared to play at least three songs, each written prior to 1941 as well as song of their choice. The tune of choice can be written after 1941 or can be an original composition. A piano will be available; all others bring your own instruments. Please note: No microphones or other sound equipment will be used during the auditions.
All performances during the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s 2016 season will be recorded for rebroadcast on Ozark Highlands Radio which airs on public radio stations in Arkansas.
