SUMMER 2016 CLASSES – ARKANSAS CRAFT SCHOOL
imageThe Arkansas Craft School in Mountain View, Arkansas, has several classes for the summer months of June through August. June classes include: Beginning Knife Making with Jim Crowell, June 10 – 12; Raku and Sawdust Firing (firing pottery using the Japanese raku method) with Kelly Edwards June 10 – 12; and Cyanotype Sunprint (exploring the ancient process of using the sun and sun sensitive materials to create ethereal and delightful images from nature) with Linda Rawlings, June 18.
July and August classes will again feature Linda Rawlings teaching Silk Screen Printing July 8 – 10 and Book Arts and Printmaking August 5 – 7. Tom Dunn will teach Beginning Wood Turning, August 12 – 14.

Knife maker Jim Crowell offers his popular class at his home workshop near Timbo, Arkansas. All other classes will take place at the Arkansas Craft School, located just off the Courthouse Square on Main Street in Mountain View.
According to Gin Brown, president of the board of the Arkansas Craft School, “Students consistently rate our classes as excellent, citing the instructors’ skill, experience and individualized attention students receive.” All classes are tailored toward beginners, with no prior experience necessary. Some scholarships are available.
The Arkansas Craft School is dedicated to the education of aspiring and practicing craft artisans. The School envisions a vibrant, creative community that inspires a life affirming appreciation of and support for the arts. The Craft School partners with Ozarka College and Pulaski Technical College, which offer Continuing Education credits for all courses.
