DSC00284The Independence County Library is beginning a series of financial workshops instructed by Luanne Gregory, Financial Associate with Thrivent Financial Services in Batesville.

According to Gregory, there are several reasons women should prepare for their financial futures, including such facts as: women tend to live longer than men and need more retirement income, women’s pension and Social Security benefits are generally less than men’s, and women are more likely to need long-term care.

The first program of the series, “Financial Strategies for Women,” will be held on Thursday, June 16 at 3:00 pm in the Community Room at First Community Bank on the corner of Harrison and St. Louis in Batesville.

If you feel you need to learn more about your financial security, take the first step by attending Independence County Library’s FREE program on June 16.
