Main Street Batesville’s FARM TO TABLE DINNER, Saturday, June 25th

The Main Street Farmers Market will bring a dinner sourced from local farms to Batesville to support the work of the Main Street Batesville organization.  The Farm To Table Dinner, to be held Saturday, June 25th at 6:30pm, will be held appropriately, right on Main Street. The farm dinner will be set up on the 300 block of Main adjacent to the Pocket Park.
Co-founder of the Farmers Market, Cheryl Anderson, loves the iconic look of the old Main Street. “For the Farm to Table Dinner, we’ll set up long tables, farmhouse style, right on Main Street. All of the guests will be surrounded by the historic buildings and get the beautiful view down the hill. That view is really something special.”
Dinner will offer the early summer bounty of local farms with pasture-raised chicken, summer squash, early tomatoes and new potatoes all grown within 30 miles of Batesville. In keeping with a farm dinner, guests are asked to bring their own plate to enter the prettiest plate contest. With all of the different plates the tables will be set with a classic mix and match of plates just like dinner at the old farm place.  Live music will be provided by the Bona Fide String Band out of Mt. View. This 5-member group of accomplished musicians can be found quite frequently on the stage at the Ozark Folk Center Stage in Mt. View. Their authentic sound keeps the group busy entertaining and the crowds happily entertained.

The Main Street Farmers Market started in 2013 as a venue for local farms to sell their produce. The Market takes place in the Pocket Park the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month thanks to the generosity of the Main Street Batesville organization. The Farm to Table fundraiser will give guests a chance to donate to some of the ongoing projects that Main Street Batesville has initiated. Opportunities to support Maxfield Park, The People’s Block of the StreetScape, and a Sidewalk Fix-Up Fund are a few ways that guests can lend their direct support to the efforts to bring new life to the commercial district on historic Main Street.
We appreciate all our sponsors who have made this possible and given Main Street a definite financial possibility to keep improving and embellishing our Main Street on downtown Batesville.
Tickets are $65.00 per person or $500.00 for a table of eight and can be purchased at Citizens Bank and First Community Bank on Harrison Street.  For more information call Joel Williams, Director of Main Street Batesville at 870-698-1555.
