New Salem Civic Center hosted Fulton County Fair Entertainment Night July 30th
The 2016 Fulton County Fair was a huge success with good crowds each night and lots of family fun and entertainment. People came from miles around for the exhibits, food, rides, music and family fun.

The new Salem Civic Center, which opened its doors July 25th this year, was host to the final night of entertainment of the fair, provided by David Lynn Jones and Friends.
The new Civic Center is 13,500 square feet including the stage, dressing rooms, restrooms, etc., with an estimated seating capacity of 1000-1200 people for concert seating It will be available for rent by contacting the Fulton County Fair Office at 870-895-5565. It was built by the City of Salem with the help of community businesses and organizations, and will be available to rent for concerts, trade shows, conventions, and private events.
This volunteer of Ozark Gateway Tourist Council was able to attend the final night of the fair and enjoy the free concert. Much to my delight, the new building was huge, quite cool on a muggy night, with clean restrooms, a good sound system (ask David Lynn Jones), and offered concessions, of which I did partake!! I had a cheese nacho and a Sprite, decided I needed something more, had a great hot dog, all before the music began. David Lynn Jones and wife Illa, Chuck Young, Dennis Horton, and Jerry Bone put on their usual professional awesome show, and I visited with them for a while before and after. I am a fan of this group, love it when David Lynn sings “Living in the Promised Land” and other songs he has written over the years for many famous stars, this talented guy from Bexar, AR!! They were happy to perform this first concert in the new Salem Civic Center! I’ve been to several of their concerts, and they did not disappoint! A great way to end 2016 Fulton County Fair. See you next year! Ginger
