Description of Event: October in the Ozarks. What better place to be….and learn! The Arkansas Craft School offers these October classes.
Papermaking and Casting: (October 1) This hands-on workshop will teach students how to make unique sheets of handmade paper for book-making, paper art, drawing, painting and casting, using botanicals from nature and recycled materials. A hands-on workshop for all levels taught by Stone County artist Linda Rawlings. Only two spots remaining for this class.

Create jewelry for yourself or as gifts with Copper Jewelry and Wire Wrapped Bracelets (October 14-15). Taught by Jonesboro artists Pat Judd and Pam Papich, the classes can each be taken one day or both days. Formed copper jewelry will involve various designs, including leaves and pea pods, using various tools to create a work of art. Faceted stones and fancy patterned wire will be used in creating the wire jewelry bracelets.
Blacksmithing is a popular craft which will be taught (October 21-23) at instructor Bob Patrick’s studio. Bob works in the beautiful area of Everton, Arkansas. He and his wife have an inclusive offer that includes tuition for the class as well as a bed and breakfast option for those wishing to spend the week-end at the site. Nearby motels are in Yellville and Harrison. Enrollment is limited.
Potters David and Becki Dahlstedt will offer their popular “10 Weeks of Clay” starting Thursday, October 6. This class meets weekly and students have the opportunity to work individually in both wheel thrown and hand built pottery. All levels are accepted as the instructors provide one-on-one instruction in this class.
