Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center Updates and Upcoming Special Events

The Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center staff were honored to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday at the Calico Rock Elementary Auditorium. It was our pleasure to honor our veterans at the museum and Printing Press Café, as well.
We want to share a word of appreciation to Bonnie Franks for the construction of a cross that was placed in Veterans Memorial Park along Highway 56. The cross was painted by Connie Whiteaker and Phyllis Smith of the Calico Rock Florist. This is a tremendous service to our community and a fitting tribute to our community’s veterans. Thank you.
The Calico Rock FFA will be hosting the annual Harvest Supper on Friday evening at the Calico Rock High School cafeteria. Meals are available for carry-out or dine-in. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. All proceeds benefit our local FFA chapter. For ticket information, contact Bryan Fountain at 870-297-3745.
Next Tuesday is the Miss Arkansas School Assembly at the Calico Rock High School gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. A reception follows. The public is encouraged to attend both. The museum will be closed from 12:45 to 2:30 on that day to allow our staff to attend and support our hometown Miss Arkansas!
Also, remember the Miss Arkansas Parade on Saturday, November 26 at 4:00 p.m.
The Printing Press Café is pitching in to support the museum’s art center expansion by hosting a Breakfast Buffet on Saturday, November 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tickets are limited and are $10 each. Preschool children are free. Tickets are on sale at the Calico Rock Museum and Printing Press Café.
The museum and café will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 for the Thanksgiving holidays.
Lastly, we have just a couple weeks left in our drive to get 200 of our friends to give just $24 for our art center expansion! We are preparing grant applications now and want to be able to show grant-makers the strong support of our community. We have been so humbled by the reaction so far. If you haven’t given just $24 to the project, you can do so securely online at:

We hope you have a great week! Bring family members that are in town for the Thanksgiving holiday by the museum for a tour. Thanks for your support.
