Ahoy mateys! Don’t let the pirates be catching you off guard this Thursday when Overman Building presents The Imperial Dinner Theatre’s hilarious comedy, “Pirates and Petticoats in the Den of Thieves.” The show runs for two extended weekends through May 3.
Juan Tumani (Eric Moffett) and his spicy gal Coral Reef (Lavesta Blackwood) run the pirate saloon The Den of Thieves. Unbeknownst to most visitors, Juan’s helpers Barry Cuda (Dylan Blackwood) and Blue Gill (A.J. Tippett) capture unsuspecting customers and sell them to the pirates, namely the terrible Captain Ball (Shane Cummings), who bears a striking resemblance to Johnny Depp… or is that Captain Morgan. Whatever the case, a special type of customer visits The Den of Thieves, sending everything in a new direction. Fisher Cutbait (John Cummings) is a librarian and he can READ! Followed closely by Jamaica Runfort (Meaghan McCrossen) and her stodgy aunt Ima Goodtime (Shirley Lamb), the pirates have a hard time keeping up the highest bidder for the upgrade in hostages. In the meantime, British officer Milo Overseas (Thomas Arnold) must go undercover to solve the mystery. Here’s hoping you don’t spit your tea. Other performers include: Jenni Muzzillo, Ariel Cummings, Eli Murray, Jude Kasinger, Logan Blackwood, and Emily Jines.
The Imperial Dinner Theatre is located at 1401 Hwy. 304 East in Pocahontas and serves a fine dining experience with china and linens and your meal brought to you by servers. In-house Chef Steve Clements has announced the menu for this show is choice of salad or homemade soup, skewered steak, chicken and pork loin, roasted potatoes, buttered gold doubloons (corn), roll and for dessert, choice of Caribbean Mud Mouse or Gold Bar Custard Pie.
