This Springtime Sprint Event in Batesville on June 13th is a practice race for local Boy Scouts preparing for the annual 120-mile White River Canoe Race.  The race this year will start at Lock 2 (Locust Grove) and finish near the mouth of Polk Bayou at the old water stadium (Batesville).  The race course is about 8 miles long.

The best place for spectators to watch may be near the mouth of the bayou on the gravel bar.  The finish line will be at the river stadium, and you can see the paddlers as they arrive and cheer them on!

Registration will begin at 8:00, and the race will start at 9:30.  Most paddlers should be finished by 12:00 and the Awards presentation and lunch will follow.

This event will be open to mature Paddlers, not recommended for youth under 14 years old unless accompanied by parent.

The race will have split divisions for Recreational style Canoes and Kayaks and Racing style Canoes and Kayaks.

Entry fee per paddler is $20.00
