Monday – June 1, 2015 – Autoharp Extravaganza, June 4-6, 2015
Our autoharp workshop features:

  • Intensive classroom instruction Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon.
  • Afternoon performances by our instructors
  • The annual Ozark Folk Center Autoharp Contest
  • Concerts each evening with our autoharp instructors and other performers in the wonderful Ozark Folk Center tradition.
  • Opportunities to jam with others
All playing levels, beginners to advanced, are welcome!   Students will choose a class depending on playing level, and all students will have classes with each of the instructors.
Instructors

Bryan Bowers – 1993 Charter Member of the International Autoharp Hall of Fame. Presents instrumental virtuosity and expressive vocals combined with warmth, eloquence, and professionalism. An Ozark Folk Center favorite.

Cathy Britell – 2005 International Autoharp Champion, 2012 Autoharp Hall of Fame inductee. Author of popular beginners’ book and superb, warm, and encouraging teacher.

Karen Mueller – 1986 International Autoharp Champion, 2006 Autoharp Hall of Fame inductee, and 2012-13 McKnight Fellow. A true multi-instrumental virtuoso, an empowering, patient and effective teacher, and a stunning performer.
3 Day Registration-$150 for all three days, after May 30th, 2015 $200.
Single Day Registration-$65 per day, after May 30th, 2015 $75 per day.
Registration includes admission to all classes, the Craft Village, all afternoon and evening concerts and contest entry for the duration of the weekend.

Kids Clay Camp June 8-12
Kids! Join us June 8-12 for a 5-day exploration of the many ways to work with clay, geared for folks from 8-14 years old. Students will have the opportunity to focus or experiment with using the wheel and hand building techniques.

Class runs from 9 to noon daily.

Pre-registration is required.

Mornings Only! From 9 a.m. to noon.
Ages 8-14 years old
Throwing on the wheel and basic hand building methods will be covered.

Total cost $160 – includes a $20 nonrefundable registration fee to the Ozark Folk Center State Park when you call to register; $125 class fee and $15 materials fee due directly to Judi when you arrive for class.

Performing this Week
Craft Village – Open 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. Admission $12.00 for adults and $7.00 for children 6-12, children under 6 are free. Family pass is $29.50. A season pass includes both Crafts and Music $75 for adults and $35 for children 6-12.

Noon program on the Bessie Moore Deck next to the School House
