Create fun stop motion animations with clay!
Learn basic clay techniques, then how to mold and reform clay using delightful progressions so they become characters in animated videos. Celia will share clever tricks for creating ‘one-of-a-kind’ functional pots with character and characters. Students will use the extruder to invent their own small characters to use as handles for a basket and an oval box made from slabs.

Students will teach those characters to wiggle and prance in brief animated videos! The pots will not be fired or glazed during the workshop, but students may arrange with the Craft School to fire the work they wish to keep. No experience with stop-motion animation is necessary, but students should be confident in their ability to build a cylinder using slabs. Students who have smartphones should download the app: Stop Motion Studio by Cateater LLC to their iPhone, iPad, Touch or Android device before the workshop. If you have a mini tripod and camera holder, bring them. Celia will demonstrate a DIY tripod. Those without smartphones will be able to share a device.
