Winter Session… 8 Weeks of Clay – March 5 thru April 23

Although these classes are scheduled on Thursdays from 1:30-4:30, instructor David Dahlstedt is

known to open the doors as early as 10:30 and to also offering studio time on Wednesdays.

The Exquisite Egg: The Ukrainian Pysanky

In this workshop Bob Byers will teach you the deceivingly simple techniques used to create the delicate and intricate designs and listen to the magical story behind this mystical craft tradition.

Art Night

This year we are introducing Art Night at the Craft School. These are free events offered to show you the marvelous talents of our instructors and to give you a small sampling of our workshops.

An Evening with Molten Glass – March 27 6:30 – 8:00 pm

In ancient times when glass was first developed, as far back 3500 BC, it was made into beads. Archaeologist use these small time capsules to draw information about trade routes, the spread of technology and the ethnic materials of culture.

Sage and Tom Holland are not only masters of Glass Bead making, but experts on its full rich history. On this Art Night – An Evening of with Molten Glass – Sage and Tom will share their passion through images they have gathered on their journeys to some of the world’s best collections of ancient glass objects. They will also demonstrate their magic manipulation of molten glass using the flame of a glass torch.

This Free Event is not to be missed!

On March 28 Sage Holland will offer a one day…(from  9am – 4:30pm)

A Brief Introduction to Glass Bead Making

For those who are interested but not sure about making the commitment to a three day workshop this one is for you. Student will be introduced to working with molten glass using a glass torch. The class is limited to 8 people so sign up early.

All cleasses run from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm unless otherwise noted.

 The Arkansas Craft School, located in Mountain View, Arkansas is dedicated to the education of aspiring and practicing craft artisans for success in the Creative Economy.  The Craft School partners with Ozarka College and Pulaski Technical College, who offer Continuing Education credits for all Craft School courses.  Support for the Arkansas Craft School is provided, in part, by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment of the Arts.
