Batesville’s “The Polar Express” Christmas Parade is Monday, Nov. 28, DON’T MISS IT!

The Kiwanis Club of Batesville presents “The Polar Express” Christmas Parade, Monday, November 28, beginning at 6:00 pm on historic Main Street. In keeping with the theme, we invite all children to visit with Santa at the end of the parade inside of the newly renovated Melba Theater. Pajamas will be appropriate dress.

Parade float entries should reflect the Polar Express theme in the float and include lighting. Santa will be in attendance. For the continuity of the imagination of our youngest guests, we ask that floats do not include “Santas.” In order for a float to be judged, it must be assigned a number prior to Friday, November 25 at noon. Judging numbers will be assigned upon receipt of entry information.

Line up for the parade will be at Town Plaza Shopping Center (Main Street across from Centennial Bank) at 5:00pm Monday, November 28, and the parade will begin at 6:00pm. Town Plaza is also the designated location for float rider drop-off with Marshall’s Dry Goods being the pick-up location. Only one car per float is allowed inside Town Plaza parking lot.

Due to state laws concerning horses, we are asking that all horses come to one area in the trailer and wait to have the Coggins papers verified before unloading. No horse will be allowed in the parade without verification. Safety is a top priority so please abide by the given instructions.

First, Second and Third Place parade float winners will be announced Tuesday, November 29. Categories for judging are Commercial and Nonprofit/Civic Organization and decisions will be fair, impartial and final.

Parade entry forms can be found on the Facebook page for the Batesville Kiwanis Christmas Parade, or contact Renee Martin for more information at reneemartin.gyyo@statefarm.com or 870-793-7355.
