Beatles at the Ridge Features Two Days of Music
The Beatles at the Ridge music festival will bring two days of performances to downtown Walnut Ridge this month. The music begins Friday evening, September 18th, and runs all day Saturday, the 19th, leading up to the performance of the headline act, the Liverpool Legends.
Friday night’s lineup features the doubleheader of Deadwood Groove and Jeffrey & The Pacemakers. Both acts proved popular last year, and they will perform on First National Bank’s Beatles Park Stage.
Deadwood Groove, with its eclectic playlist and striking vocal harmonies, kicks things off at 5:30 p.m. Jeffrey & The Pacemakers takes the stage at 7:00, featuring the music of the Beatles, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones and other bands from the so-called “British Invasion” of the 1960s.
Two talent competitions will entertain crowds Saturday afternoon. The Air Guitar Competition starts at 12:30 p.m. on the Cavenaugh Chevrolet Rock ‘n’ Roll Highway Stage. Then, the Nuttin’ But Talent Competition begins at 1:45 on the Beatles Park Stage, with competition divided into musical and dance categories.
Musical acts take the Rock ‘n’ Roll Highway Stage for the rest of Saturday afternoon and evening, starting at 1:30 p.m. with Lauren Richmond and her classic country sound, including songs made famous by Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and others.
Sun Studios recording artists Sonny Burgess & The Legendary Pacers return to the Beatles at the Ridge festival at 3:15 p.m. The rockabilly music pioneers are known for their high-energy live shows.
The Arkansas Brothers bring their innovative performance of gospel, blues, rockabilly and country music to the stage at 4 p.m. The band’s sound is influenced by the likes of Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, James Cotton, Albert Collins and Al Green.
Riverbilly, which energized last year’s festival crowd with its high octane performance, takes the stage at 5:30 p.m. Riverbilly has been compared to Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban.
Liverpool Legends, the Grammy nominated Beatles tribute band from Branson, performs at 7:15 p.m. Liverpool Legends perform songs spanning the entire career of the Beatles and on through the solo years.
