Independence County Library Announces Naming Sites and Donors

Independence County Library Announces Naming Sites and Donors, The Independence County Quorum Court approved the Independence County Library’s naming policy for the new library building. The library’s board chairman, Bill Walmsley, reported to the library board at their regular meeting on June 19 that seven persons and entities had selected naming sites and pledged $249,000 for the library. Only nine naming sites remain.

Davidsonville Historic State Park Upcoming June and July Programs. Join the staff of Davidsonville Historic State Park as we celebrate the Bicentennial of Postal Service to Arkansas. Two program sessions (morning and afternoon) will tell the story of Arkansas’s first post office as well as offer attendees the chance to try their hand at operating a postal stop. Participants will receive a ‘posted’ certificate of attendance and enjoy light refreshments as well. Attention summer camp teachers, activity coordinators, and program managers! This postal program is available to travel to your camp, activity day, or other event. Contact the park to inquire about dates.

Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center Exhibit “Arkansas/Arkansaw: A State and Her Reputation” June 20-July 8

The Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center will be hosting the traveling exhibit, Arkansas/Arkansaw: A State and Her Reputation, in the Murphy Gallery. The exhibit will be on display June 20-July 8. Admission, as always, is free. The exhibit takes a look at the reputation of the state of Arkansas and has a lot of interesting facts and ideas. Everyone is invited to come by and visit the exhibit.
