Calico Rock 3rd Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous
The Calico Rock Museum proudly announces the Third Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous and Native American Days will be September 11 and 12.
Friday afternoon, the Mountain Man Rendezvous will set up their early 1800’s fur trading encampment in Rand Park. From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., they will welcome visitors with craft demonstrations, live music and food vendors.
Saturday at 11:00 a.m., join the Trail of Tears Walk of Remembrance from the museum to the Park. During the day, see demonstrations of tomahawk throwing, black powder rifle shooting and archery. Take part in the fire-starting contest and enjoy live music. Tim Boatwright will present Native American drumming.
From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., an old-fashioned trolley offers free round trips from Main Street to Rand Park. The museum is on Highway 5 at the White River Bridge. Rand Park is two blocks north at Highways 5 and 56.
Museum Executive Director Gloria Gushue is seeking applications from food, craft and merchandise vendors. There is no charge for booth space, but vendors must supply their own electricity and water. Call 870-297-6100 or ggushue@gmail.com or visit http://www.calicorockmuseum.com/index.html
