Calico Rock will welcome their own Miss Arkansas 2016 Savannah Skidmore home. Miss Arkansas will conduct a school assembly at Calico Rock High School beginning at 1:00 p
.m. on Tuesday, November 22 in the high school gymnasium. The school is hosting a reception in her honor following the assembly at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the assembly and reception.
Miss Arkansas Savannah Skidmore will be attending and crowning during the Miss Merry Christmas Pageant on Saturday, November 26 at the Calico Rock Elementary School auditorium. She will be signing autographs following the pageant. The pageant begins at 11:00 a.m. Pageant entry forms are available on the Miss Merry Christmas Facebook page and at www.calicorockmuseum.com.
Calico Rock will honor Miss Arkansas with a Welcome Home Parade on Saturday, November 26 at 4:00 p.m. The parade will include local and county dignitaries, local fire departments and emergency personnel, and high school homecoming royalty. The parade route will travel down Park Street to Highway 56 to Main Street and conclude at the Calico Rock Museum.
The Miss Arkansas Homecoming events are sponsored by the City of Calico Rock, Calico Rock Youth Rally Board, Calico Rock Student Council, First National Bank of Izard County, and the Calico Rock Lions Club.
Skidmore is the daughter of Jerry and Kim Skidmore. She is taking a one-year leave of absence from her studies at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to complete her duties as Miss Arkansas.
