Emerson Art School Invites You to Student Art Show Sept. 18th
Emerson Art School invites everyone to a Student Art Show Sunday afternoon, September 18, from 2pm – 4 pm. There are also openings for private art lessons now that school is starting back. If interested, you may contact her as listed below by phone, web site or Facebook page.
Jeanette Emerson, owner/teacher of Emerson Art School, is still getting up and out and doing what she has done most of her life – teaching art and helping others reach within, finding their own special talents, whether it be painting, drawing, stained glass, fused glass, working with clay, collage, printmaking or another art medium. She is a personable and extremely talented lady just bubbling with the zest of life to assist anyone and everyone who enters her studio find their special talents.
“I have been an artist all my life,” says Emerson,”and art is my passion and I want to share what I have learned with you. I have a BA degree from Lyon College and a Masters degree in education from Arkansas State University. I have taught kindergarten through twelfth grade art in public schools as well as working as a Guidance Counselor for many years. After retirement I decided I wanted to continue teaching art in the private sector. I was fortunate to find the old Montessori School in Batesville was for sale. From the moment I walked through the door I knew it was the perfect location and large enough for all the classes I wanted to have. I have been their three years and this is our second summer class sessions.” She likes to work in all mediums and with all ages, and says natural talent or ability is an asset but the love of art is the most important trait in the learning process.
