Don’t let your kids miss out on a great summer adventure at Jacksonport State Park! Make plans for them to attend Summer Science Day Camp in July to discover the Weird & Wonderful Wildlife of the White River Region. Each day has a different focus. You can attend just one day or all three!
Wednesday, July 12 – Lives of Birds
Today’s birding activities include an introduction to the birds of the White River, a bird hike, and a bird trivia game. You will get to make your own binoculars and either a bird feeder or a bird house to take home!
Thursday, July 13 – Mammals of the White River!
Join us today to learn about the mammals that call Jacksonport home! You may even get the chance to search for “Whitey” our White River Monster. Test your mammal knowledge by playing “Guess That Critter”. Get creative and decorate your own hat to wear on your adventure!
Friday, July 14 – It’s Herp Day!
Today’s camp is all about snakes, turtles, and amphibians. Learn how to tell the difference between a venomous snake and non-venomous snake. Come and make clay snakes to take home with you! Who knows, you may even have a water balloon fight.
