Beautiful weather and what a time to enjoy the beauty of our natural state, especially in Pocahontas today and tomorrow!  Founders Day Festival is the place to be!

It begins with a School Students History Tour with Linda Bowlin and Billy Carroll at 10 am.

There will be a FREE Community BBQ Saturday at 5 pm on the court square sponsored by the Randolph County Heritage Museum and The City of Pocahontas, along with music on the square.  There is also a bake sale and art sale inside the museum annex. The Miss Pocahontas Pageant on the court square is at 6 pm.

Lots of activities lead us into Saturday with a 7 am pancake breakfast at First United Methodist Church, kayak race at 9, Parade at 10 am., among many other events.

A special Historic Tour of 5 Homes will be featured during the Founders Day on Saturday, May 2, from 11 am until 1 pm.  A $5 armband is required but it is well worth it.  Get ready for a really enjoyable day at Pocahontas!

The haunted tour @ 9 pm will be leaving from the old theater building, just off The Historic Courthouse Square.   The Gallery will be open, with many Artists’ works on display, also historical lectures on Randolph County.  There will be two raffles for guns that will be given away at a later date, proceeds going to community projects.  There will be lots of music, dancing, A Quilt Show, along with Tours of five Historic Homes, vendors,  and food.  They have the most wonderful of museums, you will want to be sure and tour this! Hope to see you there! (per Jean Pearcy).
