Ritsy Rags Quilt and Antique shop is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains,  “On the Square” in Mountain View, Arkansas.  Owner Rene’ Riggan began her quilting experience in 1994 after the passing of her quilter Grandmother and sister.  Always having enjoyed sewing, the call to continue the legacy was heard and she sought out a monthly sewing group.

This is where her quilting story begins. After many years of working and teaching in various quilts shops, she decided to open her own shop. René’s experience in interior design and love of antiques also became a good partner for her shop.  Ritsy Rags opened its doors in October 2007.

René’s love of teaching and inspiring others to share her passion for “creating” has perpetuated her to the quilting experience. Rene’ has lectured and instructed across Arkansas and teaches a variety of classes including needle felting, button jewelry making, rope wrapped bowls and handmade bags. Rene’ also teaches a variety of quilting classes including beginning quilting along with various other quilting and piecing techniques.

The shop has an array of quilting products such as fabric, patterns, books, thread and notions,  as well as jewelry, gifts and antiques to please all styles and taste. Also available are handmade sewn items by local artists you will not want to miss.

She says, “My goal is to spread the joy of creating by allowing customers an outlet to create and express their own creativity, in a happy, fun and inspirational place.  Come stroll into yesteryear and find your inspiration!”

I have been in her lovely shop and bought several items, including a unique scarf I thought was silver and it is such a pale lavender it blends the beauty of both, a special scarf I keep for church!  She is an energetic and personable owner/operator/instructor you need to meet!  See you there, Ginger!
