Students, out of school for the summer, spent a day as an artist at the Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center.  The museum held the first of four Summer Day Camps, sponsored by Entergy Arkansas, on June 19.  The students stamped t-shirts, sculpted clay, made marbles, and learned how to play the game of marbles.  The camp was conducted by retired educators Judy Eldridge, Connie Martin, Anna Hall and Janie Jenkins as well as local artists Rhoda Doerr, Linda Havner, and Dana Schafer and volunteers Claire Cresto and Pam Moser.

The students enjoyed a day of activities, a snack, and got to take home everything they made for FREE.  The Calico Rock Museum & Visitor Center will host three other day camps this summer allowing students to spend the day as a Native American, hobo, and explore life on the river.  Day camps are limited to the first 40 students and are free.
