Whether you live close to Batesville, AR or just passing through, you would all enjoy Karaoke Night at Fox Creek BBQ on Tuesday nights. Tonight was my second EVER karaoke experience and it was special because I have eaten their wonderful food many times, but this time I was serenaded by some of Batesville’s best of the young and old alike! Shawn Blackwell, MC of Karaoke, sang Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” for a breath-holding, oh my goodness “it sounds like Keith” two minutes! Awesome young man with quite a smooth voice and crowd-friendly especially, he cordially invited guests old and new alike. This young man has a love for this job that you feel with every guest he assists. The audience received a huge treat tonight with a full house of guests and talent alike, and good food!!!!
Two young men tackled “Like A Wrecking Ball” literally to the end and received a huge round of applause and laughter with the fun they had doing the song and antics. Two young ladies, Kate Moody and Emma Bryant, entertained royally and professionally several numbers, duet and solo. A small boy backed by his Mom sang “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” much to everyone’s delight. Adorable. Also crooning oldies was Leroy Blankenship, Batesville attorney, a seasoned Karaoke singer who received a huge round of applause with his silken vibes with Elvis’ “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” and “I Did it My Way.” I couldn’t keep up with all the singers and eat and sing along too, but I remember a young lady named Lynne who sings Janis Joplin to the nth!!!
Actually, I managed to eat a delicious steak dinner with all the trimmings during all the fun and singing – I had to bite my tongue to keep from singing along.
