Calico Rock Museum is as fine a museum as there is to be found! Today’s road trip took me through Calico Rock, and although I have read and blogged many times about their awesome museum and Printing Press Cafe, and visited the museum a couple of years ago, I stopped in to see Mr. Lockie (whom I missed, dag nab it!).

Today I found myself in a part of the museum I had not seen previously, and as I read the first email/letter from a soldier, I got goose bumps and a deep, quiet sense of profound thankfulness to God and my country, as I read several more communications, all heart-rending in their own personal way. I want to share some of these with you, and I hope you are as touched as I was, knowing most people have been in some way touched by our United States military services protecting us all these years.

Now, at this time of the year, is a special time for honoring our service men and women. I attended Mountain View’s Veterans’ Service on Memorial Day, and we have July 4th coming up, a good day indeed to remember those who fought for our freedom and right to live in the United State of America.

If you are close by or traveling through, or looking for a unique vacation place, visit Calico Rock for a few days. You are always welcome to visit the Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center. See ya there, Ginger.
